The students in Kindergarten and First Grade describe something as clean or dirty.

The students in Kindergarten and First Grade will describe something by its size.

The students in Second Grade will use prepositional phrases and verbs associated with the five senses to make observations about what they see, smell, taste, hear, and touch.

The students in Kindergarten and First Grade will express their opinions as to whether they like something or not.

The students in Second Grade use the verbs necesita, comer, and vivir to provide information about what humans and animals need to survive.  The students will also create and label the parts of a plant and the things a plant needs to grow.

The students in Second Grade will be using descriptive adjectives and the verb ser to describe the members of their family.

Students in grades K-2 will be learning about Las Posadas, a Christmas tradition in Spanish-speaking cultures in Mexico and the southwestern United States.

This week is a cultural studies week. Students in grades K, 1^st and 2^nd will understand the relationship between the practices, products, and the perspective of Mexican culture by celebrating el Día de los Muertos.
